The Express & Telegraph (pub. Adelaide, South Australia) 17 July 1913 Robert CUSSEN Mr. Robert Cussen, of Palmer-place, North Adelaide died at his home on July 10. He was in the 84th year of his life, and had resided in South Australia for about 60 years. Shortly after his arrival here he married the daughter of the late Archdeacon Woodcock, the first incumbent of Christchurch, North Adelaide. Their only son Mr Herbert Cussen is in New South Wales. On the death of his first wife, Mr. Cussen married the youngest daughter of Dr. Woodforde, who came out to South Australia with Colonel Light's party. He was connected with several businesses in the city at different times, and until his retirement was a well known figure in commercial circles. His second wife survives him. One son (Mr. Herbert Cussen) is on the staff of the National Bank of Adelaide, and two others (Messrs. Algernon and George Cussen) are in Western Australia. Mrs. D. C. Scott of Narrogin, Western Australia is his eldest daughter and there are three unmarried daughters in North Adelaide, The Adelaide Chronicle (pub. Adelaide, South Australia) 19 July 1913. |
