The Age (pub. Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) Thursday 12 August 1937 Dr. William Withers EWBANK OBITUARY - Dr. W. W. EWBANK Dr. William Withers Ewbank, eldest son of the late Archdeacon Ewbank, of North Adelaide, died at his residence Inkerman road, Caulfield, yesterday, aged 73 years. He was senior surgeon at the Perth Hospital for many years, and later practiced in Adelaide. For some years he worked with Dr. Howard A. Kelly, at the John Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore (U.S.A.) and with Dr. Anthony Bowlby at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London. He returned to Australia and practiced in Collins street for 25 years. After long research he eliminated treatment by surgery as far as possible. His work on "The Cure and Cause of Chronic Disease" was published in the "General Practitioner." The funeral which will be private, will be held at the Springvale Crematorium this morning and has been arranged by A. A. Slieght Pty. Ltd., St. Kilda road. The Age (pub.
