Henry Charles Taylor (Charlie) was born on 21st September 1920 at 8 Blundell Street, Islington, London; the son of William Henry Taylor (1891-1966) and Alice Woodward (1892-1955). Charlie joined the Royal Navy during World War 2 and served on HMS Hood. He was killed on 24th May 1941 when the Bismarck sunk the Hood in the north Atlantic.
