THE PRIOR FAMILY OF CROYDON AND ADDINGTON

Chapter 200

Charlotte PRIOR (1814)

Charlotte PRIOR was born on 19th September 1814 at Addington, Surrey and baptized at the church on 9th October 1814. She was the daughter of William and Hannah PRIOR.

Charlotte married John PAISH and they had the following known children:

• John PAISH bap. 1830 (listed in Addington church baptisms)

• Ann PAISH b. about 1844

• Eliza PAISH b. 22nd July 1845 at Shirley, Croydon

• Clara PAISH b. about 1847

• George PAISH b. about Mar 1851

Eliza appears on the 1851 census of Addington with her grandmother Hannah (see Table 6).

In 1841 the family was living at Spring Park Row in Shirley as Table 7 shows.

In 1851 the family may have been still at the same address although the enumerator wrote "Shirley Street called Lower Shirley or Village".  See Table 8.
