| Note* | Mary (?) Mary Loten's will was drawn up in 1798 and proved in 1814. She left her 'waring apparel' to her grand-daughter Betsey Bell. Her money was divided into four parts: 1. A quarter to Betsey at age 21. 2. A quarter to her son Thomas Marsh of Rochford, surgeon and apothecary. 3. A quarter equally at 21 between grandsons Thomas and John Marsh, sons of William Marsh late of Rayleigh, shopkeeper. 4. A quarter invested for the benefit of David Harridge, oyster dredger of Leigh and after his death to his sons Jeremiah, Thomas and John. |
