Criminal* In July 1852 It seems that Henry and brother Charles had a brush with the law. A clipping of the Times of July 1852 reveals that a Charles W Harridge was charged with stealing expensive supplies of quinine, salacina and musk from his druggist employer and fencing them through his brother Henry Harridge who, under the name of Humphreys, sold some to another druggist, a Mr Slipper of Leather Lane.

Old Bailey sentences printed in Lloyds Weekly Newspaper 16-Jan-1853 show that Charles and Henry were acquitted.
