| Note* | William James CHAPLIN William was a coach master in partnership with W B Horne, their firm Chaplin & Horne has been described as the biggest coaching and carrying business in Great Britain in the 1820's. In 1838 on completion of the London & Birmingham Railway (L & BR), Chaplin & Horne became agents for them. He became a director of the London & South Western Railway (LSWR) and held this position at the time of his death. 1845-6 he served the office of Sheriff of London and Middlesex, being sworn in Saturday 27 September 1845 at the Guildhall.
