George Edward Meacock was born on 28th February 1841 at 2 Well Yard, St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. He was the son of Joseph Thomas Meacock (1808 - 1880) and Mary nee Middleditch (c1807-).

On 23rd January 1860, now a carman and living in 22 Drury Lane, George married Margaret Blackhall of 20 Dudley Street, the daughter of Charles Thomas Blackhall and Mary Ann nee Taylor. Of these two there appears to be no record in the 1861 census, however, in 1871 they are living in Newhall Street, Islington as Table 7 shows.
By 1881 the family had moved to Half Moon Court in Holborn as Table 8 shows.
In 1891 George and family were in Emerald Street, Holborn as Table 9 shows.
In 1901 there is no sign of George and Margaret in the census.
