Be it remembered that on the Sixth day of ffebruary in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and ninety two James Vanderzee of [?Rochford?] in the County of Essex Gentleman a Copyhold Tenant of the said Manor came before David Harridge Gentleman Lord of the said Manor at his usual dwelling [?house being?] the Manor house of and belonging to the said Manor called Little Stambridge Hall did out of Court surrender out of his hands into the Lord’s own hands by the [?rod according?] to the Custom thereof All that Customary Messuage or Tenement heriotable with the Stable Edifices and Buildings Garden and six acres of Land thereto belonging called [illegible but probably Winters] with all and singular the appurtenances lying and being in Little Stambridge aforesaid holden of the said Manor And also one undivided Moiety or Half part (the whole into two equal parts to be divided) of in and to All that the said Customary Messuage or Tenement heriotable with the Barn Stable Edifice and Buildings Garden and Six acres of Land thereto belonging called Winters with all and singular the Appurtenances lying and being in Little Stambridge aforesaid and holden of the said Manor And the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits of all and singular the said several Moieties of the said premises And all the Estate Right Tithe Interest Inheritance Possession Property [illegible] and Demand whatsoever both at Law and in Equity of him the said James Vanderzee of in and to [the] same and every part and parcel thereof To the only use and behoof of John Harriott of Great Stambridge in the said County of Essex Esquire his heirs and assigns absolutely and for ever according to the Custom of the said Manor Who being now personally present humbly prayed of the Lord of the said Manor to be admitted Tenant to all and every the same Messuages Lands Tenements parts and shares of Messuages Lands Tenements and hereditaments comprized and mentioned in the aforesaid Surrender To which said John Harriott the Lord of the said Manor of his especial grace and favor did out of Court by his own hands grant and deliver Seizin thereof by the rod To have and to hold all and singular the said Premisses with the Appurtenances unto the said John Harriott his heirs and assigns for ever of the Lord by the rod at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said Manor by the Rents Heriots Customs and services therefore antiently due and of right accustomed and he gave to the Lord for a ffine as appears in the margin and (saving to the Lord all Rights) he is admitted Tenant thereof in form aforesaid and did the ffealty And immediately afterwards the said John Harriott did out of Court surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by his own hands and acceptance All and every the Messuage Lands Tenements and Hereditaments of him the said John Harriott holden of the said Manor by Copy of Court Roll To for and upon such Uses Estates Intents and Purposes as in and by the last Will and Testament of the said John Harriott in writing already made or hereafter to be made is or shall be thereof expressed and declared.
