In the name of God Amen I Sarah Vesey of
Hadleigh in the County of Suffolk Spinster being of sound and disposing mind memory and
understanding (praised be God for the same) hereby revoking all former and other Wills
Testaments and Codicils by me at any time heretofore made do make publish and declare this
my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) ffirst I desire
that my remains may be interred in Hintlesham Church yard as near to the Grave of my late
dear Aunt Mary Vesey as can be also I desire that all my just debts funeral probate and
executorial charges shall be paid and satisfied as soon as conveniently can be after my
decease also I give and bequeath unto my Nephew Charles Currie only son of my sister Mary
Wankford Currie the sum of three hundred and fifty pounds to be paid him when he attains
the age of twenty one years and in the mean time to be placed out at interest upon real or
government security by and in the names of my executors and executrix or the survivors or
survivor of them or the executors or administrators of the survivor and the interest or
dividends to accumulate and be added to the principal and paid therewith and in case my
said Nephew shall die under the age of twenty one years then I give and bequeath the said
three hundred and fifty pounds and accumulation unto such of the seven children of my late
brother William Vesey deceased as shall then be living to be equally divided between them
share and share alike and to the child or children then living of such of them as shall be
then dead such child or children to have and take the part or share that his her or their
parent or parents would have been entitled to if then living but in case my said Nephew
shall die under the age of twenty one years and his Mother shall at that time be a Widow
then I desire the interest or dividends of the said three hundred and fifty pound and
accumulations shall be paid to her during the term of her natural life and at her decease
the principal of the said three hundred and fifty pounds and accumulations unto the
children of my said late brother William Vesey or their children in manner hereinbefore
mentioned also in case the ffather of the said Charles Currie shall die before the latter
attains his age of twenty one years then I desire the interest or dividends of the said
three hundred and fifty pounds and accumulations shall be paid to his said Mother during
his minority and be applied by her towards his maintenance and education also I give and
bequeath unto my Niece Elizabeth Jane Turner wife of Robert Turner the sum of one hundred
pounds to my niece Mary Turtill wife of Robert Turtill the like sum of one hundred pounds
to the eldest daughter of the said Robert and Mary Turtill the sum of fifty pounds to be
paid upon her attaining the age of twenty one years and in the mean time to be placed out
at interest upon real or government security by and in the names of my executors and
executrix or the survivors or survivor of them or the executors or administrators of the
survivor and the interest or dividends to accumulate and be added to the principal and
paid therewith also I give and bequeath unto my executors and executrix the sum of fifty
pounds upon trust that they pay or apply the same to or for the use and benefit of my
brother Davie Vesey in such manner as they or the major part of them shall think proper
and for which his receipt alone shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors also I
give and bequeath unto my Niece Sarah Vesey eldest daughter of my said late brother
William Vesey deceased the sum of thirty pounds to Robert Offord of Hadleigh aforesaid
Gentleman and Henry Offord of the same place Gentleman the sum of ten pounds apiece for
their care and trouble in the due execution of this my will over and above their necessary
expenses to Sarah Clarke my Servant the sum of five pounds and the bed she usually sleeps
upon with the Bedspread and furniture thereto belonging also I give to my said sister Mary
Wankford Currie my watch with the Chain and Seal thereto belonging to my said Niece
Elizabeth Jane Turner my broach to my said niece Mary Turtill my garnet ring to my said
Niece Sarah Vesey my three remaining rings to her brother Davie Vesey my Beaureau as to my
plate wearing linen and apparel household linen I desire the same may be divided between
the three daughters of my said late eldest brother William Vesey and the two daughters of
my said brother Davie Vesey equally or as nearly so as conveniently can be and as to all
the Residue of my monies securities for money goods chattels personal estate and effects
whatsoever and wheresoever that I shall be possessed of interested in or entitled unto at
the time of my decease and that shall remain after payment of all my just debts funeral
probate and executorial charges and the several legacies and bequests aforesaid I give and
bequeath the same unto such of the seven children of my said late brother William Vesey
deceased as shall be living at the time of my decease to be equally divided between them
share and share alike and to the child or children then living of each of them as shall be
then dead such child or children to have and take the part or share that his her or their
parent or parents would have been entitled to if then living and I do hereby nominate
constitute and appoint the said Sarah Vesey eldest daughter of my said late brother
William Vesey deceased Executrix and Robert Offord of Hadleigh aforesaid Gentleman and
Henry Offord of the said place Gentleman Executors to this my last Will and Testament and
it is my will that my said executrix and executors or the survivors or survivor of them or
the executors or administrators of the survivor shall and may vary alter or transpose the
stocks funds or securities in or upon which any part of my property is or shall be placed
or invested for other securities of the like nature and that they shall not be answerable
or accountable for or in ?respect? in [of] the fall or deficiency in any stock fund or
security nor for any other loss that may happen to any part of my property or by placing
out any of the monies arising from my personal estate unless such loss shall happen
through their willful neglect or default nor the one of them for others or other of them
or for the act deed receipt neglect or default of the others or other of them but each for
his or her own conduct In Witness whereof I the said Sarah Vesey the testatrix have to
this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal the fourteenth day of March in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven Sarah Vesey signed sealed
published and declared by the said Sarah Vesey testatrix as and for her last Will and
Testament in the presence of us who in her presence at her request and in the presence of

This is a Codicil to the last Will and Testament of me Sarah Vesey of
Hadleigh in the County of Suffolk Spinster which I desire may be annexed thereto and
deemed and taken as part thereof whereas I have and by my said will bearing date the
fourteenth day of March one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven given and bequeathed
to Sarah Clarke my servant the sum of five pounds and the bed she usually sleeps upon with
the bedstead and furniture thereto belonging Now I do hereby revoke and make void the gift
and bequest of the said bed bedstead and furniture and desire that that same may be
considered as part of the residue of my personal estate but in lieu thereof I give and
bequeath to the said Sarah Clarke the further sum of forty five pounds (making together
fifty pounds) to be paid her within three calendar months next after my decease and I
ratify and confirm my said will in all other particulars thereof not hereby altered In
Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand the twelfth day of August in the year of our

Appeared Personally John Growse of Hadleigh in the County of Suffolk
Gentleman and made Oath that he is one of the subscribed witnesses to the Codicil of the
last Will and Testament now hereto annexed of Sarah Vesey late of Hadeigh in the County of
Suffolk Spinster deceased who died on or about the seventh day of October last the said
Codicil bearing date the twelfth day of August one thousand eight hundred and forty and he
further made Oath that on the twelfth day of August 1840 aforesaid the said testatrix duly
executed her said Codicil by signing her name at the foot or and thereof in the presence
of him the Deponent and of William Grimwade the other subscribed witness thereto both of
whom to wit this Deponent and his said fellow witness were present at the same time and
this Deponent and the said William Grimwade thereupon attested and subscribed the said
Codicil in the presence of the said testatrix - John Growse - On the eleventh day of July
1842 the said John Growse was by virtue of the Commission hereto annexed duly sworn to the
truth of this affidavit Before me Ed: Henry Lee Curate of the Parish of Hadleigh

Proved at London with a Codicil 14th July 1842 before the Judge by the
oaths of Sarah Vesey Spinster the Niece and Henry Offord the surviving Executors to whom
