The Will of David Henry Harridge of Wareside, 1851

This is the last Will and Testament of me David Henry Harridge of Ware side Schoolmaster I direct the payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses I give to my beloved wife All the household furniture effects and things in and about the house and premises wherein I reside I give also to my said wife the sum of Two hundred Pounds payable on my decease by virtue of a certain Policy of Insurance on my own life in the Clerical Medical and General Life Insurance Society numbered 8323 And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects of which I may die seised or to which I may be entitled in reversion remainderor or expectancy I give and bequeath the same unto Isaac Kimpton Waller of Ware Maltster and Charles Wagstaff of Camberwell their executors and administrators Upon Trust when & so soon as the same shall come to their hands to set apart and invest in their own names in Government or Real Securities at Interest the sum of Five hundred Pounds for the use and benefit of and to be paid to my Son so soon as he shall attain the age of twenty one years the dividends and interest thereof in the mean time to accumulate and be added to the principal And in the event of the death of my said Son under the age of twenty one years Upon Trust to pay the said sum of Five hundred Pounds unto my said wife for her sole and separate use And as to the residue of my said estate after investments such sum as aforesaid Upon Trust to pay the same to my said wife for her sole and separate use and benefit and free from the debts or control of any husband with whom she may at any time hereafter intermarry and her receipt alone shall be a sufficient discharge to my said Trustees for any monies paid to her under the trusts of this my Will And I hereby declare that each of my said Trustees shall be answerable only for his own acts and deeds only and not the one for the other of them And in the event of either of the Trustees hereby named dying or declining or becoming incapable to act in the trusts of this my Will it shall be lawful for the continuing or acting Trustee to appoint any other Person or Persons to act in the said trusts in conjunction with such continuing Trustee and in the place or stead of the Trustee so dying or refusing or becoming incapable as aforesaid And I appoint my said wife and the said Isaac Kimpton Waller and Charles Wagstaff Executrix and Executors of this my Will In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this thirty first day of July One thousand eight hundred and fifty one -- D. Proved on the 27th day of September 1851 before the Revd Edward F Neville Rolfe Clerk Surrogate &c by the oaths of Emily Harridge the Widow and Isaac Kimpton Waller the Executrix and one of the Exors to whom Admon &c was granted they being first sworn duly to administer Power being reserved &c to Charles Wagstaff the other Executor when he shall apply for the same.
