At the General Court Baron of Sir Robert Bernard | Baronet Lord of the said Manor there held for the same on the | Thirtieth. Day of October in the Twenty third year of the Reign of our Sovereign | Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain ffrance and Ireland | King Defender of the ffaith and so forth And in the year of our Lord One Thousand | Seven hundred and Eighty two Before John Griffith Gentleman Steward there | amongst other things It is Inrolled as follows.

Also it is presented by the Homage that since the last court here held (to wit) on | the ffourteenth day of March last past Cavell Briggs then a Copyhold Tenant of the | said Manor did Surrender into the hands of the Lord of the said Manor by the Rod and | by the hands of Joseph Vaughton Cope Gentleman instead of the Lords Bailiff and in | the presence of Golden Prentice and John Barrows two like Copyhold Tenants of the | said Manor according to the custom thereof All those ffour acres of Land Customary | and Heriotable held of the Manor aforesaid at the yearly Rent of ffour Shillings and | ffour Pence And also all that Croft of Land or Pasture Customary and Heriotable called | Portmeed held of the Manor aforesaid at the yearly Rent of ffour Shillings and ffive | Pence lying and being within the Parish of Pagglesham Sometime Since in the | tenure or occupation of Beatrice Briggs and were late in the tenure or occupation of | Robert Allen deceased his undertenants or Assigns and to which the said Cavell Briggs | by Mary Briggs his Mother was admitted to him and his Heirs at a court held for the | said Manor the Second day of August One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty three | And the reversion and reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and | Profits thereof and of every part and parcel thereof And all the Estate Right Title Interest | Property claim and demand whatsoever of him the said Cavell Briggs of in to or out of | the same every or any part or parcel thereof To the only use and behoof of Thomas | Harridge of Leigh in the said County of Essex Distiller his Heirs and Assigns forever | Who being present here in court in his proper person humbly prayeth to be admitted | Tenant to the said premises So Surrendered to his use To which said Thomas | Harridge the Lord of the said Manor by his Said Steward granteth and delivereth Seisin | thereof by the Rod To have and to hold the said Premises with the Appurtenances | unto the said Thomas Harridge his Heirs and Assigns according to the Tenor of the said | surrender of the Lord by the Rod at the will of the Lord according to the custom of the said | Manor by the Rents Customs and Services therefore due and of right accustomed And he giveth | to the Lord for a ffine as in the Margin and is admitted Tenant thereof in form aforesaid but | his ffealty is respited.

NB at this court the said Thomas Harridge | surrendered the said premises to the use of his will |
